For stability, jobs and growth: the Programme of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union
The programme of the Irish Presidency was officially launched in Dublin on Wednesday January 9, 2013.
2013 ushers in a new phase in the European Union’s drive for recovery. Read more about the Irish Presidency's approach across a range of key issues, aimed at securing stability and ensuring the conditions for job creation and sustainable growth.
Working together with our fellow Member States, the EU institutions and other stakeholders, the Irish Presidency will be that of a recovery country driving recovery in Europe. The Presidency programme sets out the real and tangible decisions we will push for as Ireland chairs negotiations across nine different Council formations from January until June. It sets out the principles underlying our approach as Presidency, provides an overview of our Presidency priorities, and gives more detail of the issues we will be addressing in each of the Council configurations.
