Discover vibrant visual art and poetry with The Poetry Project

As part of the Culture Programme of Ireland's EU Presidency, the Poetry Project brings you poems and accompanying video artwork, in celebration of Ireland’s literary and visual creativity.

NB. The Poetry Project has now been extended for an extra 10 editions. You can continue to follow and subscribe from their website

‌Every week from January 1st we have been able to follow the work of leading, and emerging artists and writers, and discover Ireland through different eyes. Our final installment on is Cothú, by Gabriel Rosenstock.

Poetry Project Stats

- Over 4,000 subscribers

- 15,000 unique visitors in 84 countries.  (Including 8 in Bahrain, 76 in India, 8 in the Phillipines, 2 Vientamese and 1 in Guam)

- 50,000 visits to their website ( and almost 100,000 page-views.

The Poetry Project was set up by the Kinsale Arts Festival in partnership with Poetry Ireland
and the Royal Hibernian Academy. Poems were selected by Gerard Smyth, Poetry Editor of The Irish Times and Joseph Woods, Director of Poetry Ireland. Video works were selected and commissioned by writer and curator Gemma Tipton, and Patrick T. Murphy, Director of the Royal Hibernian Academy. The Poetry Project is presented as part of the Culture Programme of the EU Presidency, with additional support from Foras na Gaelige.
